Manoir Hovey

Manoir Hovey, is a 5-star Relais & Châteaux property which holds a story just waiting to be heard. The private estate was commissioned in 1900 by Henry Atkinson the president of Georgia Power in Atlanta. He designed his summer home after George Washington`s residence in Mount Vernon. Inspired by the era, Manoir Hovey elegantly marries authentic architecture, contemporary luxury and unparalleled service.

Located only 75 minutes South of Montreal, Manoir Hovey is a 5-star Relais & Chateaux property on the shores of Lake Massawippi just outside of North Hatley, one of Quebec’s most picturesque villages. Manoir Hovey offer thirty-six beautifully appointed rooms and suites along with year-round activities, and host conferences, weddings and special events.

Accommodations

Manoir Hovey has 36 rooms and suites spread amongst two main buildings and six exterior pavilions. All of their accommodations are individually decorated and offer a rare combination of lake-side charm and modern luxury. Most of their rooms offer panoramic views of Lake Massawippi, a ten mile pristine lake, and our English gardens.

Dining

Le Hatley Restaurant – Manoir Hovey’s gastronomic restaurant Le Hatley is renowned for its warm, personalized service and its innovative Quebec cuisine, which uses the finest local and regional products. Recipient of the 2019 Wine Spectator ‘’Best Award of Excellence’’ their wine list elegantly compliments their fine dining experience. Overlooking Lake and gardens our signature dining room offers a tranquil setting, breathtaking views and a unique gastronomic experience.

Tap Room Pub – Offers a more casual dining experience. Vision Travel guests will receive a complimentary three-course lunch for two including a wine pairing with the main course. They can enjoy this amenity on the Tap Room’s terrace which offers a view of gardens and lake which is second to none.

Activities

In summer months, Manoir Hovey offers numerous on-site, complimentary, activities such as: Tennis, Pilates, Yoga, Mixology, Fly fishing, hammocks, outdoor pool, and bicycles.

In winter, Manoir Hovey offers: Ice-fishing, snowshoeing and Ice skating. Their knowledgeable staff can also guide you toward our many local cross-country ski trails and downhill ski mountains in proximity of the hotel.

For culinary tourism, the Eastern Townships has many producers of fruits and vegetables, cheeses, wine, cider etc… Many open their doors to guests and are thrilled to share their passion.

Sustainability

As a member of the Relais & Châteaux association, Manoir Hovey put a priority on sustainability in their kitchen practices. Each year they take part in events such World Oceans Day and Food for Change (in collaboration with Slow Food). Manoir Hovey is also proud to use and showcase its local producers. In fact, 80% of their fruits and vegetables are from small local producers and 100% of their cheeses are from the province of Quebec.

In addition, they have abolished the purchase of bottled water. Manoir Hovey has adopted Q-Water a system which uses tap water to filter and transform it into the highest quality still or sparkling water for their guests. All rooms and suites offer Manoir Hovey branded glass decanters containing filtered Q-Water.
