Travelling to the Caribbean

As the colder weather approaches, many of our clients have been wondering if travelling south for a warm weather break will be possible.  While we know it will not yet be time for everyone to travel, we wanted to share what our sun holidays partners have put in place for safe travels this winter.

Flexible Booking Policies

Booking travel is a big decision and with so much unknown right now, many of our partners have implemented flexible bookings policies. This gives travellers the peace of mind that they will be able to either change or cancel their travel plans should the need arise.

Covid– 19 Travel Insurance

Our partners at Air Canda Vacations, WestJet Vacations, Transat and Sunwing Vacations are all including Covid-19 coverage with their package vacations to many southern destinations at no additional cost. The terms do vary by provider; however, each does have coverage for emergency medical expenses in relation to Covid-19.  These plans are not a replacement for your regular travel insurance, including cancellation/interruption insurance, and medical insurance for non-covid related medical emergencies.  Be sure to review what is included and any restrictions with your Vision Travel Advisor.

Manulife is also offering Covid-19 insurance as an add on to their regular insurance packages.

As of October 19 2020, Medjet is offering Covid-19 benefits in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands (some restrictions apply) to their members that includes transportation home.

Please speak to your Vision Travel Advisor about your insurance options.

Enhanced Health & Safety Protocols

Enhances health and safety measures have been introduced though out your journey.  Airports have already introduced pre boarding temperature checks and it is mandatory to wear masks both in the terminal and in the air.  Once you arrive in destination your vacation representative will be wearing a mask and your transfer vehicle will be newly sanitized. Guests will be required to used hand sanitizer before boarding, wear a mask while in the vehicland maintain social distance from those not in your party.

Resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean have implemented heath safety measures such as enhanced cleaning, physical distancing measures, hygiene stations, use of face coverings and improved ventilation. For specific details please see your Travel Advisor.

Additional Information

Entry requirements do vary by country and are subject to change.  Please refer to the IATA Travel Map here for more information.

As of September 2020 Canada, requires those returning from overseas to self-quarantine for 14 days. We anticipate as new test protocols are developed at some point these restrictions will be eased. We will be sure to communicate with you as new information becomes available.
