When you think of the major airports of Europe, chances are Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt and London Heathrow come to mind.  But it’s hard to beat Munich for efficiency, customer orientation and facilities.

This year MCH won Europe’s Best Airport award at the World Airport Awards –for the seventh time. And it’s not hard to see why:  the airport offers unbeatable minimum connection time, which as a slender 35 minutes beats out all other major European hubs. This is thanks to its high-speed baggage transfer system and user-friendly touches such as a screen at every arrival gate displaying onward flight details for all passengers on that flight with connecting flights.

But there are so many facilities you may wish you had more time to kill at MCH. Services include 150 shops, a casino and gaming arcade, showers and a fitness studio, mini-spa, “nap cabins”, occasional live cultural and sporting events, free coffee, tea and newspapers, and a small library with free books.

One of the airport’s stellar achievements is its VIP Wing.  Opened three years ago, this 5,500 square foot facility has everything to make your journey a pleasure, from its own VIP car access to services of your personal multilingual assistant, to conference suites,  limousine service to your gate and a smoking suite featuring fine cigars and cognac.  Even a beer garden:  how Bavarian is that! Access to the VIP Wing is available to all passengers regardless of your airline or class of service and starts at €290 per person.

A big fan of MCH, Vision COO Brian Robertson says “With the tight connection times and great rail service Munich airport is amazing.  Totally efficient!”
