EK171 Dubai-Kiev returns to Dubai

Emirates flight EK171 Dubai-Kiev on 17 July has returned to Dubai due to the safety concerns raised with the latest reports on Malaysian flight MH17. Our flights to Kiev are suspended with immediate effect, till further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. The safety of our customers and crew is paramount, and we will continue to monitor the situation carefully.

In response to queries, Emirates flights to and from the USA and other European destinations fly a different route and are outside the zone where the incident involving MH17 occurred.

Enhanced security measures for flights to USA, Canada and UK

All those traveling to USA, Canada and the UK are required to switch on their electronic devices at the Dubai International Airport or risk being denied access to fly. Please ensure that your electronic devices have sufficient power before reaching the airport. This is part of enhanced security measures required by the authorities of these countries.

What kind of baggage is subject to screening?
All hand baggage is subject to screening.

Where will the screening be done?
Screening will be done at relevant boarding gates, for flights departing to destinations in the US, UK and Canada.

What happens if I cannot power up my device?
Passengers who are unable to switch on their electronic devices risk being offloaded or being asked to leave behind such devices. There is no secure location to store these devices, and Emirates will be unable to bear responsibility for these items.

Emirates flights to Peshawar, Pakistan

Emirates has suspended flights to and from Peshawar effective 25th June 2014 until further notice, due to the security situation at the destination. Please check below for the latest flight updates. Passengers booked to travel during 25th June to 23rd July can cancel their booking, rebook to travel at a later date, or to fly to another Emirates destination in Pakistan. As this situation is beyond the control of Emirates, liability towards our passengers is limited in accordance with Emirates’ Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage. Additionally passengers are advised to contact their travel insurers.

Passengers who are travelling on tickets issued as a part of an inclusive tour, should contact their respective tour operator or travel agent for flight ticket reissue or cancellation.

Emirates Flights to Damascus, Syria

Emirates has, with immediate effect, suspended its daily EK913 and EK914 services to/from Damascus until further notice. Emirates apologises for any inconvenience caused to its customers, however the safety of our passengers and crew is of the highest priority and will not be compromised.

Passengers holding tickets to/from Damascus are advised to contact their local Emirates office and check the status of their flight below, where information is updated every five minutes.
