Serious weather alert issued for Fiji as residents prepare for a potential tropical cyclone by Thursday. Nadi weather office says of immediate concern are those living in low lying areas. Possible flash flooding. The FMS issued a strong wind warning for land areas in the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands and the Western half of Viti Levu. The tropical depression to the North of the group is expected to develop to the West of Fiji and gradually move towards the group from today. Associated active rain and cloud bands are expected to affect the country from this afternoon
