Aer Lingus: strike threat (after Christmas holidays)

Aer Lingus Faces New Strike Action Threat Over Pensions Talks

Aer Lingus Group PLC is facing the threat of strikes by airline and airport staff after it said that the SIPTU union had threatened to ballot for industrial action in coming weeks unless its pension demands were met.

SIPTU, the Services, Industrial, Professional and Technical Union, would ballot its members working for for Aer Lingus, plus those working at Dublin and Shannon airports. However, any ballot would come too late for strike action over the key Christmas period.
