Washington DC: Navy yard shooting update: flights delayed, grounded

Flights are delayed and have been grounded at Reagan National Airport as authorities continue their search for a gunman they say has fired shots at the Navy Yard, according to multiple media reports.

The fly.faa.gov website says that a ground stop is in place and that departure delays are currently between 75 and 90 minutes. Those delays are increasing.

A report from the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority said there are about 30 planes currently being held on the ground, and that the ground stop applies only to departing flights.
