GUINEA – AVOID NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against non-essential travel to Guinea. The current security situation remains heightened because of the social, political and economic tensions in the country, and because of the increasingly frequent confrontations between young demonstrators and law enforcement authorities. Incidents of violent crimes are on the rise in Conakry and extreme caution should be exercised, even though foreigners are not being targeted specifically.
