Successful negotiations between unionists and airport authorities occurred on Wednesday, March 27, thereby canceling nationwide airport strikes anticipated for mid-April.
Three days before the World Social Forum was to bring tens of thousands of visitors to Tunis, a strike by airport workers scheduled for March 25-27 has been postponed to April 16-18, according to Tunisian news agency TAP.
An agreement to postpone was reached on the afternoon of March 23 in order to accommodate those planning to attend the WSF, scheduled for March 26-30.
