Regional Advisory for regions bordering Burundi and parts of the DRC
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against non-essential travel to the rural areas bordering Burundi and the DRC — except to Rubavu District (formerly Gisenyi), the towns of Kibuye and Cyangugu, and within the boundaries of Parc National des Volcans and Nyungwe National Park — because of possible incursions by various rebel army groups.
