Do I need to change my name on my passport before my honeymoon?

The simple answer is no. Your travel documents like airline tickets need to exactly match your passport. If you don’t some countries may not let you in and some travel companies may not let you board.
When booking your honeymoon trip I recommend booking it under the name that is currently on your passport. That way you will have one less thing to do after the wedding.
After the honeymoon, if you decide to change your name, you can do it along with your other identification changes.
Depending on if you mail in your information or go to a passport office, it can take between 10 and 20 business days to be processed plus delivery time. Urgent or express service is available with processing time from 24 hours to 9 business days with extra fees.
Extra Travel Tip: Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after you plan on returning to Canada. This allows you to comply with entry requirements for most countries.
