Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against all travel to Syria due to the increasingly volatile security situation. Canadians in Syria should leave now by commercial means while these are still available. Many airlines, including Arab League carriers, have reduced flight schedules from Syria. We strongly recommend that Canadians register with the Registration of Canadians Abroad service.
Given the volatile security situation, the Embassy of Canada in Damascus has suspended operations until further notice. Canadian officials have left the country.
