Egypt: UK alters Egypt travel advice

FCO alters Egypt advice

Travelinfo.ca: THE British Foreign and Commonwealth Office has altered its advice, warning against all but essential travel to parts of Egypt. The FCO updated its advice yesterday, advising against travel to Sinai north of the Suez-Taba road, as a result of a rise in the risk of criminal activity in the north Sinai area.

The FCO insisted that the advice did not apply to the towns of Suez or Taba. The move comes after two US tourists were kidnapped while on a tour of Sinai earlier this month. Elsewhere, the FCO said that protestors currently remained in Tahrir Square in Cairo, and warned that demonstrations still remained frequent in Cairo, as well as other cities, such as Alexandria.
