Flights to TIA cancelled as runway collapses
ALL the international flights at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) east of Kathmandu have been cancelled due to the collapse of runway since 08h00 on Tuesday.
Ratish Chandra Suman, general manager at TIA, said three international flights were diverted to Kolkata and two others had to circle for more than two hours to avert any possible danger. The runway maintenance is under way but domestic flights have resumed.
