Update Regional warning: Avoid all travel
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against all travel to the areas surrounding the Tungurahua volcano, including Banos and the villages of Juive and Pondoa. Due to a rapid increase in volcanic activity at the Tungurahua volcano, the villages of Juive and Pondoa, as well as the highest areas of Banos have been evacuated. Canadians should monitor the local media and follow the advice of local authorities.
