Air Canada (AC) – Travel Advisories for September 29 – Update 04h20

Possible disruptions to Air Canada and Jazz operated flights:

Barcelona (BCN) and Madrid (MAD) – Workforce disruptions. Flights may be impacted throughout the day by National General Strike in Spain.

Brussels (BRU) – Airspace closure. Flights may be impacted throughout the day by airspace closures due to industrial action.

Air France

Ground handling companies will be affected by the general strike launched in Spain on Wednesday September 29.

As a result, all Air France flights from and toward Spain are cancelled on September 29.

Air France will offer alternative solutions where applicable, either on a flight with Air France, with KLM through Amsterdam, or with one of the SkyTeam alliance partners. Aircrafts with more seats will be set up on Thursday September 30 in order to transport rebooked customers.

British Airways (BA)

Due to the general strikes in Spain on September 29, British Airways anticipates delays and disruption to some flights into and out of Spain and possibly other European destinations.

It will also have an impact on ground handling and BA requests where possible that customers use online check-in and only bring hand baggage with them. Customers on connecting journeys from Spain will also be unable to through check their luggage.
For tickets to or from Barcelona, Madrid or Malaga for September 29, customers will be able to change their date of travel free of charge. Customers will need to contact their local BA office to make this change.

In the event that flights are cancelled customers will be able to: Change their ticket to an alternative date; OR refund their ticket purchased to their original form of payment.

Brussels Airlines

Due to a strike of the Air Traffic Controllers in Belgium, Brussels Airlines will operate a limited number of flights on European destinations on Wednesday September 29.

For all cancelled flights on September 28 and 29 2010 from/to Brussels, Brussels Airlines offers the possibility to rebook flights free of charge or request a refund.

Delta Airlines

Advisory: National Strike – Spain

On Wednesday, September 29 2010, there will be a National Strike in Spain. This means that some flights to, from or via Spain could possibly be delayed or cancelled. In addition, local transportation may be affected. If a flight is affected by the strike, Delta will inform the passenger and rebook the flight accordingly. Agents and customers are urged to regularly check the up-to-date arrival and departure times of your flight.
