Message from Bahamas Tourism: postpone travel for next five days

Bahamas recommends postponing travel
BASED on the projected path and forecast of Hurricane Irene, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation is strongly recommending that those with plans to travel to The Bahamas within the next five days contact their hotel, airline or cruise line to postpone travel.

All visitors and potential visitors are advised to follow the progress of Hurricane Irene closely (www.nhc.noaa.gov) and avail themselves of the Bahamas Hotel Association hurricane cancellation policy to reschedule their trip as the storm may cause disruptions in travel throughout the weekend.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation will continue to monitor Hurricane Irene and will provide updates as the situation warrants.
