Hurricane Beatriz: Travel alert from Ottawa

TRAVEL reports: Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada have issued the following updates on the travel.gc.ca website to the following countries:

Regional warning: Hurricane Beatriz

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against non-essential travel to the coast of Mexico from Zihuatanejo northwestward to Cabo Corrientes.

The US National Hurricane Centre in Miami has issued advisories for Hurricane Beatriz. As changes to the forecast and local conditions are continuous, Canadians should visit the US National Hurricane Center for the latest updates.

Canadians residing in or travelling to the affected areas should monitor local news and weather reports, follow the advice of local authorities, and contact their travel agent or tour operator to determine whether the situation will disrupt travel arrangements. Canadians seeking emergency consular assistance in the area should contact the Canadian Embassy or Consulate, or the Emergency Operations Centre in Ottawa.
