African Safari

My recent African safari was overall a wonderful action packed vacation. Africa is a special place and my dreams came true. The people were so generous and charming, so much so that the 5am wake-up calls and 5:30am drives did not even bother me in the slightest.

I was able to stay in three camps while on safari, the Sanctuary Stanleys, Chiefs, and Chobe Chilwero safari camps in Botswana, all of which were luxury camps. In fact they felt more like luxury resorts than safari camps.

The staff at the camps were well trained and delighted to assist guests.

Food in all the camps was beautifully prepared, with lots of variety, although they served a great deal of meat, so vegetarians should make sure to inform the chefs of any and all dietary requirements. Most of the dining was outdoors, even in the evenings, so I suggest that potential travellers should bring suitable clothing for the colder evening weather.

Some of the drives were long and bumpy due to the lack of actual roads, but the payoff of seeing Lions, Rhinos, Hippopotamus, Giraffe and Water Buffalo up close was definitely worth it.
