Updated Booking and Cancellation Policies for Tours


Travel Update

In response to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and the subsequent Government of Canada warning to avoid all travel to China and the regions of Veneto and Lombardy in Italy, Globus has instituted a travel policy relating to travel to and through these areas to help ensure the health and safety of our guests. The Government of Canada is advising Canadians avoid all non-essential travel to China.

As a result, we have temporarily suspended the operation of China through June, 2020, and Italy itineraries through April, 2020. Globus guest services are in contact with guests affected by these cancellations in order to adjust their travel plans.

Additionally, select itineraries including Israel are being suspended through April, 2020 due to short-term travel access restrictions. Our guest services team is contacting guests on these itineraries to cancel or reschedule.

As an added precaution for the health and safety of all of our guests, prior to joining your vacation, we are asking all guests to acknowledge if they have travelled from/visited or transited through China, including Macau, Iran or travelled from/visited Hong Kong, South Korea, or quarantined towns in Veneto and Lombardy within the 14 days prior to the start of their vacation. If a guest does not meet this requirement, they will not be allowed to travel on any Globus tour.

Additionally, some governments have implemented wider restrictions that limit the arrival of travellers who have travelled from/visited or transited through countries beyond those currently within the Globus policy above. We recommend that you check the current travel policy of your final destination for further details.

We continue to monitor the situation closely to determine if additional modifications and updates are needed in accordance with Canada and international travel advisements and policies.

Updated Policy

With the uncertainty felt among many travellers over the effects of the spread of Coronavirus, Globus is responding with a policy to enable our travellers and their travel advisors to adjust travel plans and help alleviate immediate concerns.

At this time, all of our tours are operating as scheduled with the exception of mainland China, Italy, and select Israel itineraries. For all other destinations, we are introducing a temporary policy update for 2020 travel as follows until further notice:

• For travellers with existing bookings and for new bookings, deposits on future Globus vacations can be moved to any other brand (Globus, Cosmos, Monograms or Avalon Waterways), destination or itinerary in 2020 or 2021 without penalty* prior to final payment.

• Additionally, Globus is allowing guests departing on any vacation that includes Italy on any date to move their vacation to a future date without penalties*.

• Also Globus is temporarily waiving cancellation penalties** until 30 days prior to departure.

With the safety, security and peace-of-mind of our travellers as our primary goal, we believe in giving them more time and flexibility with their travel decisions. Travelling the world is a joyful experience and we want to do our part to keep the anticipation stress-free.

Applicable price of the new tour/cruise/package applies, as well as value of any applied promotion on original booking if new booking is within the same brand or on the same Avalon Waterways cruise itinerary. **Cancellation penalties refer to applicable cancellation fees within final payment, returned in the form of a Letter of Credit. Deposits remain non-refundable. Cancellation fee waiver applies to all Globus family of brands vacations with the exceptions of those that include Oberammergau performances or anything that includes specific payment conditions, such as non-Avalon Waterways operated cruises, rail package inclusions and certain destinations.
