Canadian Airport Apps

Stay Connected With Mobile Apps From Canada’s Major Airports

The airport can be overwhelming, especially when in an unfamiliar one. Most of these Canadian airport apps will assist you with navigating and finding a route quickly, with maps and directions. And, for those times when you have a long layover or a flight delay, these apps can also help you find something interesting to do in the airport to pass time.

Here are some of our go-to Canadian airport apps:

VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Available on Android: Yes
Available on iPhone: Yes
Price: Free

The Vancouver International Airport app has been out for a couple of years, helping travellers navigate the airport; view flight updates, find shops and restaurants, receive special offers and even play a game. One thing we really like about this airport app is the 3D terminal maps to help you find your way around.

Look for YVR in the Apple App Store or Android Google Play to download it to your device.

TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Available on Android: Yes
Available on iPhone: Yes
Price: Free

Flying to or through Toronto? There’s an app for that! Designed to help you “smooth out your flight path,” this app is widely available with a series of useful features.

You’ll find easy access to flight searches, travel updates, Toronto’s weather and things to do in the airport, such as shopping and food (both of which should be explored at Pearson!).

Search Apple App Store, BlackBerry World or Android Google Play for Toronto Pearson. Download it and you are ready for your trip through Toronto.

MONTREAL PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Available on Android: Yes
Available on iPhone: Yes
Price: Free

How does having your own airport-savvy personal assistant sound? That’s exactly what Tourisme Montreal calls YULi. YULi comes complete with interactive maps, personalized walking routes, real-time updates of your flight information, promotional offers and so much more. One great feature in this app is the ability to reserve your parking space online, near your terminal. As this airport continues to grow, YULi is an excellent resource to have handy on your device!

OTTAWA MACDONALD-CARTIER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Available on Android: Yes
Available on iPhone: Yes
Price: Free

FlyYow was the original concept for the Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) mobile app but it evolved to FlyCANADA. Being the capital city of Canada, YOW wanted a name that represented the whole country, thus the name. The mobile app, also known as your airport concierge, gives you access to security wait times, directions to the airport via GPS coordinates, flight change updates and more. Plus, you’ll have quick access to useful airline contacts should you need assistance to track down your luggage, rebook a trip or deal with any other mishap.

BILLY BISHOP TORONTO CITY AIRPORT

Available on Android: Yes
Available on iPhone: Yes
Price: Free

The Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) has a neat app that not only helps you with flight and airport information, it also has a magazine design that offers you pertinent articles for those times you’re waiting for your flight and looking for something to read. The user-friendly interface of this app is as engaging and nice-to-look at as this airport’s scenery, known as being home to one of the most beautiful airport approaches. Users of the app also get free Wi-Fi throughout the airport. The name of the app is Billy. Find it at Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Other Apps

In addition to the mobile apps mentioned above, most major airlines also have their own apps which may contain handy airport information and that are sometimes needed to access the in-flight entertainment. You can read a bit more about those here.  For airports that don’t have their own apps, not to worry – there are several other apps that enhance the airport experience, such as Gate Guru and Priority Pass.
