China: Shanghai: airport: cancellations due to Typhoon Nepartak

DOMESTIC airlines have cancelled over 20 flights scheduled for today and tomorrow between Shanghai and southern Chinese cities due to the impact of Super Typhoon Nepartak.

 

China Eastern and Shanghai airlines have cancelled all inbound and outbound flights between Shanghai and Taiwan today. Over 20 flights from other mainland cities to the island were also cancelled, the carrier announced.

 

The local carrier Spring Airlines cancelled two flights between Hongqiao airport and Xiamen in southeast Fujian Province and another two flights between Pudong airport and the Xiamen city for both today and tomorrow.

 

Juneyao Airlines has cancelled eight flights between Shanghai and Taiwan as well as Fuzhou and Xiamen in Fujian Province scheduled for today. Another three flights between Shanghai and Fujian Province scheduled for tomorrow were also canceled.

 

Air China and China Southern Airlines have cancelled their flights between Shanghai and Taiwan today.

 

Ticket sales for 32 train services scheduled to travel between Shanghai and southeast China’s Xiamen and Fuzhou, and south China’s Shenzhen and Guangzhou today and Saturday have been suspended, the city’s railway bureau said yesterday. It is still unknown if the affected services will be cancelled, as it will depend on the impact of the typhoon. Read more:
