CAIRO: Egyptian navigation sources in the Cairo International Airport announced Thursday the stoppage of air traffic between Egypt and Libya completely due to an air traffic controllers strike in Libya, Youm7 reported.
Air traffic controllers are on strike in protest to the Thursday bombing of Tripoli Airport.
Airport sources told Youm7 the air traffic stopped between Cairo Airport and Tripoli and Benghazi since Sunday due to the security situation, but the strike canceled the rest of flights heading to some other Libyan airports.
Afriqiyah Airways, an airline based in Tripoli, canceled flights from and to Misrata and Libyan Airlines canceled flights from and to Labraq Airport.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly called on Egyptian citizens not to travel to Libya in light of the security situation there. Egyptian citizens in Libya have also been warned to be cautious and not to travel outside their residences or workplaces.
