Sixteen nations have issued warnings to their citizens visiting Thailand to avoid travel to areas near the anti-government rallies taking place in Bangkok, said Surapol Sawetseranee, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), on Tuesday.
The countries are Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, England, France, Sweden, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Hungary, Canada, Israel and Brazil, he said.
Mr. Surapol also said there were no reports from TAT offices, or from the Association of Thai Travel Agents, of cancellations by foreign tourists of advance bookings on hotel rooms in Thailand, according to a Bangkok Post report.
