LEBANON – AVOID NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against non-essential travel to Lebanon due to heightened tensions and crime.
Ensure that your travel documents are up to date and register yourselves and your families online with the Registration of Canadians Abroad (ROCA) service in order to receive the latest advice from the Canadian embassy in Beirut.

Regional Advisory for the regions within five km of the border with Syria; regions of Wadi Khaled, Hermel and Arsal; the eastern suburbs of Tripoli including the areas of Jabal Mohsen and Bab al Tabbaneh; south of the Litani River; and Palestinian refugee camps

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against all travel to the regions within five kilometers of the border with Syria; the regions of Wadi Khaled, Hermel and Arsal; the eastern neighbourhoods of Tripoli, including Jabal Mohsen and Bab al Tabbaneh; the areas south of the Litani River, especially those near the border with Israel; and to Palestinian refugee camps.
