Today we spent the entire day touring the back roads of the area.
Our first stop of the day was the Damilano winery in Barolo. Damilano has consistently been scored at over 90 points by Wine Spectator magazine on their reserve Barolos.
After a short visit we proceeded to the village of Barolo.
They have a wine museum there; however we did not go in. Today, August 15th is also a holiday in Italy. It is Ferrragosto day, a holiday that celebrates the end of the hot summer days working the harvest. Not much open today as most folks celebrate with their families.
We continued on down the most rural roads we could find. The scenery was fantastic. Every turn brought a new beautiful vista, which was impossible to capture by camera. We spent the evening enjoying another culinary experience.
