Our Virtuoso Voyager Club excursion in Helsinki was a tasty sliver of life in Northern Europe. We left the pier at 8:30am toured the immediate area around the pier which allowed our group of 18 to get off the bus and visit with one another. We then visited a famous architect’s home where he and his contemporaries actually worked and created new architectural designs together in a wonderful rural, rustic environment about 30 minutes outside of the city. Many of the great furnishings and styles were in the buildings themselves. It really reminded the 6 Canadians in the group of cottage country or Algonquin Park in Ontario. In fact we often compared it to how the Group of Seven may have worked together. Our Voyageur Club travellers really bonded during lunch at a beautiful lake side setting near a yacht club on one of the many islands in the port area of Helsinki. Conversations were nonstop as a lady played local Finnish songs on an accordion. The extra friendships the Virtuoso Voyager program provides to our travellers is just tremendous, the partnerships is a huge benefit for all of us here at Vision2000 Travel Group.
Dinner was in our cabin with a fantastic course by course serving. The land of the midnight sun did not disappoint……..the sun was up until 11:15pm. Truly magical.
