B20 and G20 summits are scheduled to take place in Cannes from November 2 to 4, 2011. During the summits, access to the city will be restricted due to security measures and police presence on the streets. Travellers should expect additional security checks at borders. French authorities may temporarily close the border with Italy. Demonstrations may occur before and on these dates, especially in Nice. Avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings as they have the potential to suddenly turn violent, follow the advice of local authorities and monitor local media.
