Philippines- Exercise high degree of caution

On September 27, 2011, Typhoon Nesat (or Pedring) made its way across the northern part of Luzon Island. Heavy rains and strong winds caused flooding and led to power outages, as well as transportation and communications problems. Canadians should exercise caution, monitor local news and weather reports, and follow the advice of local authorities. The Embassy of Canada in Manila will be closed on September 27, due to the storm.
