Travel Alerts from Ottawa: Bahrain, Libya, Morocco

Travel reports: Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada have issued the following updates on the travel.gc.ca website to the following countries:

Bahrain : Avoid non-essential travel

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against non-essential travel to Bahrain due to civil unrest and demonstrations and the threat of terrorist attacks.

Libya : Avoid all travel

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against all travel to Libya due to civil unrest, demonstrations and the potential threat of terrorism in the country.

Morocco: Exercise high degree of caution

There has been an increase in demonstrations in Morocco in February 2011. Canadians are advised to avoid all gatherings and demonstrations and to stay away from areas where they occur, as they may turn violent without warning. They should also monitor local news reports and follow the advice of local authorities.
