Tens of thousands of travellers could face long-haul flights without on-board meals, drinks or duty-frees due to a five-day strike at Heathrow airport.
More than 80 specialist lorry drivers plan to strike from Wednesday May 22 until Sunday 26 May.
As a result 29 flight operators could be affected over the late May bank holiday weekend.
The drivers supply food and drink for Alpha LSG, the UK’s largest in-flight catering company, and have proposed the action amid a row over “punishing” new rotas.
“The new rosters are taking a heavy toll on the workers’ well-being,” said Jayesh Mistry, regional officer of the union Unite.
