Berlin: public transport strike on Friday Feb 15 (S-Bahn not affected)

BVG strike announced for Friday
The trade union Verdi has called a strike at the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) this Friday, 15 February 2019. Almost all subway lines, buses and trams are affected by the walkout.
A Verdi spokesman told the German Press Agency on Monday, 11 February 2019 that the trade union Verdi has asked BVG employees to participate in the strike from the start of operations at 03:30 on early Friday morning until 12.00 noon.
U-Bahn, buses and trams affected by strike
On its website, BVG writes that almost all bus, tram and subway traffic will come to a stand still. Significant delays are expected for several hours after the strike is over. The S-Bahn is not affected by the strike and will operate as usual.
Less work and more money for employees
In the negotiations for around 14,000 employees of BVG and its subsidiary Berlin Transport, Verdi asks for a 36.5-hour work week and Christmas bonus for all employees, as well as changes to the pay scale and a one-off payment of 500 euros for union members.
