Officials have reopened the main building at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) the afternoon of Aug. 11. Authorities evacuated the building after a fire broke out just after 1330, delaying several flights. The blaze, which reportedly occurred at the Air India (AI) office, was extinguished at around 1500, but an investigation into incident is ongoing. No major damage or casualties were reported from the fire.

Departing flights have resumed at DAC, but lingering disruptions are possible through the evening. The fire did not impact arriving flights, despite initial reports that some planes were diverted.
