India: Mumbai – May 10 strike threat by Air India pilots

Air India’s domestic flight operations are likely to be hit from next week as its pilots have threatened to go on strike.

A notice sent by Indian Commercial Pilot Association to the airline management on Thursday said that the pilots will not undertake any flying duties from May 10 onwards as their flying allowance has not been paid yet. The allowance was supposed to be paid by Friday.
The pilots who would go on a strike if the management fails to stop them would be those on the A320. Consequently, the airline’s domestic flights would be affected. The international ones to long haul destinations in the US, UK won’t be hit. The airline spokesperson was not available for comment.
