Luxembourg: train collision

(JB) A Luxembourg train collided with a mobile platform that was lying on the tracks, injuring the driver, CFL has reported.

The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the Luxembourg-Trier line in Manternach. It is not known why the mobile platform was on the track.

The train’s driver suffered minor injuries. All passengers disembarked at Wecker and then were taken to Trier by bus.

CFL was on Wednesday afternoon working to repair any damage to the line and remove the train. Trains were cancelled between Manternach and Wasserbillig and rail replacement buses were put on between Luxembourg and Trier and Luxembourg and Wasserbillig, with a train connection to Trier.
