Active Destination Spotlight: Madagascar

Yup it’s more than the movies: this massive island (the fourth largest in the world, and 90% the size of Manitoba) lies off the east coast of southern Africa and packs in tons of adventure and activity. One of the most environmentally diverse destinations, it combines countless chances to observe endemic species of plants and animals. An island nation of some 23 million people, Madagascar has a French heritage which you’ll see reflected in the architecture and heard in the street. However nature is the largest draw here: beautiful beaches, lush rain forests, vast national parks and thousands of species – including of course the famously entertaining lemurs.

madagascar canoeThis is a destination which is truly off the beaten path! If that is right up your alley, ask your Vision Travel Advisor about World Expeditions’ tour options to the island. They offer a host of itineraries from 7 to 21 days. Perhaps a great combo with that East African trip you’ve been dreaming of since you were a kid?
