A contractor accidentally cut through two electrical feeder cables serving portions of Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport, delaying flights.
It caused a loss of power around 4:30 a.m. at Terminal C, which serves Delta Airlines and US Airways. The contractor was involved in construction in the airfield at the time.
Some flights at LaGuardia Airport were delayed up to three hours due to a power problem.
The Port Authority is installing generators to power the jet bridges, which will allow service to resume.
No flights have been canceled.
