Portugal: TAP airline to strike May 1-10

Pilots from national flag carrier TAP last night agreed to ten days of industrial action starting on Labour Day

The strike, which will run until the 10th of May, was called after the union representing pilots claimed the government and the airline had gone back on concessions made after pilots called off a strike at the last minute over the festive period.

TAP has since responded saying the action will cause irreversible damage to the country’s economy and will also put a strain on the airline’s privatisation, with final bids set to be handed in a month from now.
