Airlines reduce Newark flights with runway closure
A 60-day repair of a major north-south runway at Newark Airport will begin April 1.
Airlines have voluntarily reduced scheduled flights by 15% during the construction period, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
In addition to being closed until June 1, the runway will operate at reduced capacity from June 1 to June 15, and will be closed an additional 10 days from Sept. 20 to 30.
