Arend & Darlene’s Excellent Adventure to Italy and the Dalmation Coast – Day 5

Got up early in the morning to view the sail into Boka Katorska (Bay of Kotor).

Arrived at the port of Kotor, Montenegro. Kotor is at least two thousand years old, first mentioned 168BC when it was known as Acruvium. It was also a part of the Venetian Republic for nearly four hundred years. Kotor is a UNESCO world heritage site and its old city walls are still intact.

There are numerous sidewalk cafés in the old town and one can easily spend three or four hours walking around. There is no vehicular traffic inside the walls and the port can only accommodate two ships at a time. During our stay, we were moored next the MSC Asmonia.

We left port at 13.00 hours to depart for Dubrovnik, Croatia. Should arrive there at about 19.00 hours.

After arrival in Dubrovnik, we tendered to shore and had dinner at Restaurant 360. This restaurant is on the outer walls of the city, overlooking the harbour. The meal was fantastic and the view was outstanding. We barely made the last tender to our ship at midnight.
