China and Hong Kong: Typhoon Haikui: Flight advisory

Cathay Pacific Advisory

(Hong Kong) Cathay Pacific today (Wednesday, 8 August) announced that its flights to and from Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo remain suspended for the day, but plans are underway for resuming operations on a limited scale after midnight, as well as mounting extra flights in the early hours tomorrow.

“We anticipate disruption and air traffic control delay on 9th August as airlines work to recover their schedules, so passengers are strongly advised to defer non-essential travel, and check Arrivals and Departures before departing for the airport. To ensure passengers receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or e-mail, they are advised to update contact details in Manage My Booking. ”

The airline will waive re-booking and re-routing charges for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on or before 7 August for travel on Cathay Pacific to, from or via Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo between 7 and 10 August.
