Northern Europe Cruise Chronicle aboard the Silver Whisper one of SilverSeas finest ships.

May 28

Our cocktail party for the Virtuoso Travellers on board the Silver Whisper was in the Observation Lounge on Sunday night. We have a very international guest list with travellers from Canada, the United States, Brazil, Bermuda and Australia all represented.  The group enjoyed an introduction from the Cruise Director and a short talk about what Virtuoso means to the travellers on board by me.  The sun was shining throughout. As we are moving further north the sun is setting later and later each day.  Last night it went down at 9:45pm.  Dusk lasted almost another hour with a brilliant purple and pink sky.

Warnemunde, a lovely port on the flat Plains of Northern Germany was the perfect spot to have a bike ride.  That was the plan until we went to both of the rental spots only to find not a rental was available………..they were all booked.  It was a holiday weekend in Germany and with weather like we are experiencing I think everyone was at the beautiful seaside town.

Today our sea day was a relaxing time, with plenty of conversations on deck with the now familiar faces of our group.  We are preparing for our tour tomorrow in Helsinki and very much looking forward to our day.  Off now to another dinner in La Terraza with a few of the friends we have made. The Ravioli Nioci, a walnut paste is waiting for me……….as I know I am awaiting it. We have experienced some wonderful food combinations so far on our cruise and the culinary aspect of Silversea is truly memorable. I have arranged a special galley tour for our Virtuoso group later in the cruise.
