Motorists Stranded by UK Storm, Worst to Come

A powerful storm system lashed out at the United Kingdom Monday and Tuesday, leaving behind widespread flooding and nearly a half of foot of snow in some places.

AccuWeather.com forecasters expect a second storm system to bring even more wintry weather on Thursday.

Tropical storm-force winds hit the island as heavy rain flooded roadways and caused evacuations across portions of Wales and England. At least 14 flood warnings were issued by the Met Office, while numerous other severe weather warnings were in effect.

Across the region, motorists are being advised to be cautious with debris covering roadways and slick roadways.
